Anybody who enjoys will know that the fibre strings that often cling to the fruit after the skin has been removed is not the nicest part of the banana at all.
It often has a weird texture, is crunchy and gets stuck in your teeth, tormenting you for hours as you try to get it out.
Many would have been forgiven for thinking that this was just a human trait and animals wouldn’t happily chow down on the banana regardless of how it tasted.
Well, how wrong we were as video evidence has shown that a monkey definitely doesn’t like the fibre as it removes it from the fruit before giving it to its child.
The video was shared on TikTok by the user J Lathosa and has already been viewed more than 3.5 million times on the platform.
The short clip has since ended up on Twitter where it has been viewed more than 8 million times and people aren’t quite sure how to process this information.

Anyone else slightly creeped out at how human this is? Like taking the strings off the younger monkey and even getting the string off the wood she was sitting on so it wasn't on her chair?

Just love the way she meticulously removes the stringy bits

The fact they paused what they were doing to pick up the bit that was stuck on the log amazes me more than it probably should
